Uncompahgre Sheet Music
Uncompahgre is a stunning three-part composition by Andrew Bergeron for flute, alto flute, piccolo and guitar. Crafted in a rustic cabin amidst the scenic beauty of Colorado's San Juan Mountains, each movement is a tribute to the surroundings. The first movement for flute and guitar, "Silver Jack," paints a tranquil scene of a cobalt blue reservoir with grazing cattle and wandering sheep. The second movement, "Cimarron," is a complex piece capturing the flow of the Cimarron River with a double tremolo technique for the alto flute and guitar. The final movement for piccolo and guitar, "Courthouse," is a tribute to an iconic mountain from the 1969 John Wayne film "True Grit," recreating the view from the mountain's lofty 12,000-foot summit.
